In this kit we have designed a power efficient street light system which according to the physical environment is on and off on time basis. In the day time all the streets light are off. In the evening time all the street light are on and in the night the street light are managed as per the vehicle arrival. In this we have designed one lane system. However this can be implemented for two lane system also.
The LDR sensor is used to sense the light condition in the environment and send a signal to the microcontroller. Similarly, the IR sensor will check for the vehicle movement in the lane and send the signal to the microcontroller .
On getting the signal the controller will generate proper output to control the street light of the lane that light regulation in the night on vehicle movement. Thus the kit uses the IR arrangement and LDR interface as input block , 8051 microcontroller as processing block and the street light regulation unit using the relay driving mechanism using ULN2803 relay driver and the SPDT relays to put on /off the street light.
