Using this kit Smartphone based home automation we can control our home devices like AC fan, AC bulbs, lights etc using the Bluetooth of our Smartphone. There is an application running in the Android based Smartphone in which there is a GUI for user. As the user clicks to turn on device one, the device will get turned on and similarly it can be turned off. The above process is similar for all 4 devices. There can be any low/medium power AC device. The devices can also be operated if we provide the DC power them.
In the kit Smartphone based home automation the application running in Smartphone sends the serial data over the Bluetooth in the air. The device which we have made has a Bluetooth module connected with it. This Bluetooth after being paired with the Smartphone can read the data coming from the Smartphone. The microcontroller of the device reads the data and processes it. The relays are connected with the microcontroller using a relay driver. The microcontroller controls the relay driver, which further controls the relays. The output of relays is provided in such manner that any type of load either AC or DC can be connected with it and hence can be controlled easily.
