Using this kit Digital multi-meter with temperature measurement we can measure the resistance, capacitance, current (DC) and the temperature. The output is digital i.e. all values will be displayed in numbers. The selection switches are there by which we can select the type of measurement we want to do. The range selector is also there. The measurement of resistance, capacitance, and temperature is automatic, i.e. we don’t have to select the range for the measurement. For the measurement of the capacitance, we will have to select the range.
In the kit Digital multi-meter with temperature measurement the measurement of resistance is based on voltage divider rule. The microcontroller reads the voltage at its measuring pin, and hence by using the voltage divider formula it calculates the values of resistance. For the measurement of the capacitance, we have used the charging and discharging property of the capacitor. By calculating the discharging time with a standard resistance, we have calculated the capacitance of the capacitor. The current measurement is based on the current sensor, and the temperature measurement is based on the temperature sensor. The system requires a standard 12 V, 1A dc power supply. The system can be further upgraded in various ways. For example it can be connected with a computer to log the data inside the computer.
