Description
This kit Cell phone controlled street light is designed to save the wasting of power in street light. Generally all the street lights are kept on throughout the night, even though there is no use of them. Using this system, we can control the street lights by sending an SMS to them. Any user who wants to turn on the light, he can do this by selecting the lights. There is the feature, by which the user can turn off the lights also. In case the user doesn’t turn off the light, they will be turned off automatically by sensing the environmental lights.
In the kit Cell phone controlled street light the working of the device depends on two important elements, one is the AVR microcontroller, and the other one is the GSM mode. There two are connected with each other via UART protocol. The GSM modem is controlled by the microcontroller with the AT commands. The street lights are connected with the microcontroller by using relay and relay driver. A dot matrix LCD is there to for the user assistance. The power supply provided to the system is DC type 12V 1A. The system can be further upgraded to make a suitable for real implementation with some minor modifications.

Its a good representation of DTMF applications used today. For me it was a nice experience while running it.
